| I examined their website further and found on their message board/forum one of the few comments was called "Not impressed ..." You can read the thread here: http://cfpwpg.proboards92.com/index....ead=1173911790 I have to say that I feel the same way he feels as the woman was very cold and condescending towards me ... almost as if she was completely disgusted that I won't take on the older dog's mammary cancer AND was too cheap to pay an adoption fee. |

| I hope this doesn't come across as a crazy conspiracy theory, but I had a long discussion with someone about this rescue organization in Winnipeg called "Cause for Paws" and they brought up a very interesting point. Almost every single dog listed on their website is an expensive purebred small dog ... i.e. Yorkshire Terrier, Maltese, Poodle etc. What are the chances of a rescue organization only ever receiving perfectly purebred dogs for rescue? What about the mutts (or "designer" dogs) like my little Tika? Here is the link: http://www.causeforpaws.cjb.net/ This person is from the Minneapolis and North Dakota area and brought to my attention that a lot of small, purebred dogs go missing in that area. There are constantly notices of families searching for their pets and offering rewards. Another interesting thing is that this rescue organization claims they get their dogs from a humane society in North Dakota. The last trip they were making (that included the 13 year old Yorkie I was so excited about) was being taken in a large van as there were so many small dogs they were bringing to Winnipeg. What are the chances of a humane society in the U.S. handing over more than a dozen dogs to a Winnipeg rescue group? I'd like to know your thoughts and if I'm reading too much into things ... |

| I am so in awe of you and all that you do...your video of Annie has left me in tears and I have gone through about 10 kleenex's reading through this thread..this must be so difficult for you to know that this particular rescue seems to be in it for the money and not the love of the dog...that in itself is so terribly sad...good luck hun.. | very interesting. That is scary to think you might be on to something. I don't know anything about crossing the US/Canada border - would they have to show anything for the dogs to prove how they got them?

| Thank you for the kind words - but I'm not going to give up looking for the perfect rescued Yorkie for my family. I actually in awe of how kind and helpful everyone has been to me on this forum. That almost puts me in tears because it truly is a special group that belong to this forum. You guys were the first I turned to when Annie died and I thought I would never stop crying and grieving. Everyone else thought I had lost my mind. If anyone notices an ad or information about a Yorkie needing to be rescued, please let me know. I know there is at least one little girl or boy that needs us - I just don't think we have found him or her yet. |

| This sounds like a big scam to me. I dont see the border patrol allowing sick puppies to be transferred into Canada. I believe you even have to pay a fee for each dog transported over the Canadian lines. Sound like this person is buying dogs at mills and trying to pass them off as rescues like the other person on here was doing. Something definitely smells rotten here. You would think they would let about anyone take here so they dont incur more vet bills trying to get her healthy and dealing with the cancer. |

The other thing I offered to do is to help them with their website since it is very unprofessional looking ... especially with the pop up that comes up immediately after logging on. When I asked about certain dogs with names photographs listed, she had an excuse that those dogs were all adopted and the photographs were still up because the person that does their website hasn't updated it. I offered to help her out for free and she promptly shot me down telling me the person who does the website would be terribly offended. I don't know if I'm being naive, but wouldn't a person who cannot keep up with doing a website for a rescue group gladly want the help? I would think it's a team effort to help the dogs and egos wouldn't get in the way. Something seems very fishy about this group ... | |

I think you are right .... something sounds very fishy about them and although I know it's heartbreaking for you, I believe you are right in going with your "gut feeling"! God bless you!!
