| Hi--I recieved your PM and thought I would answer you here. It's funny that you should ask about Stringer Creek as you are the 2nd person to do so in the past few days...ironic....hmmm... I would be glad to share what information I can about Paul and Cia with you. In early 2005, my parents and sister aquired a dog from them. (Abby, she was actually on their 'previous' page last I checked.) At the time, Yorkies were the ONLY breed that they worked with--they only had the one litter at the time and only a few adults. They were an open book with us, were spoken highly of by the vet they used and owners, had a nice home, their kennel area was very nice. You didn't get a bad feeling from them at all. They called routinely to check up on Abby after they took her home. Since they got Abby, they have not had one single issue with her, health or otherwise. She is the perfect pampered pet that sis was looking for. Sis's friend got a pup from them a short time later and has never had any issues either. So honestly, based on our experience, I can't say anything negative about them, but again, I think the last contact they had with them was around Jan 2006, soo...... A good lesson that one person having a good experience does not a good breeder make. Now, that being said, from some things I've heard about them (from the Shih-Tzu world) since and what you can see on their site, there is no way in heck I'd get a dog from them now! The fact that they would sell to a broker alone (which is news to me) is bad enough for me that I'd look elsewhere. So in short, to answer your PM, no, I do not still stand by the endorsement I gave them over 2 years ago. Anything else about them you think I might could help you with, feel free to ask and I'll do my best. I would call and ask them and demand an answer for why their site claims not to sell to brokers when they are clearly doing so. Generally speaking, 1500.00 seems like way too much for a pet--which actually caught me off guard as I know you'd mentioned before that you couldn't afford 'fancy breeder prices.' I wish you the best of luck in your search, but seems like you have a tough road ahead of you. You seem to be determined to find a reputable breeder, which is good, but I doubt you are going to find one who's going to sell you a dog on open AKC reg, no questions asked. And you are most certainly not going to find one by looking at backyard breeders. I would suggest maybe finding a reputable breeder whom you and your wife can get to know. Many times they will place their retired breeding stock in pet homes, which may be a good match for you. And who knows, maybe later when you are ready they will help guide you in your breeding endevours. |

| Thanks all - we'll see what the day brings. Bama - I found an add in the paper for Deanna - I've since learned that that's not a good place to start a search. |

Do you still have the add, or a phone number maybe? I'd like to snoop around and see if I can find out more info about her 'broker' business. I understand if you'd rather PM it...feel free... Last edited by BamaFan121s; 01-02-2008 at 07:00 AM.

| I live like 10 minutes from stringer creek kennels. I went to school with Cia shes a little older than me. I know her mother, father, stepmother. She has one puppy left on puppy find. He is a male and is 600.00 I think and the other puppys were around the same price. But If Im not wrong her puppies are CKC not AKC. |

| Welcome to YT and we are so happy that you found us as a place to learn all about this wonderful Breed. As for your doubts regarding the breeder in question and the Broker... First, buying from a broker is absolutely not acceptable on any level and if you find that your gut instinct is questioning ANY purchase, from any breeder... I would follow that instinct, because in most cases it is correct. Have you checked with the wonderful breeders we have here on site? You cannot go wrong and you will find that you have quite a few choices to choose from. Also, when you ask for references you will find everyone to be helpful and honest. Good luck and I hope you find the perfect puppy for you and your wife. I wish you both well with her struggle with cancer ... I know that it is a difficult and scary time and a puppy is wonderful with the help of recovery. I do not know what I would have done without my Penelope to help me through it all. God Bless..... |

| ryorkies - Thank you - she's been fighting the cancer since 01/2005 - I'm so very proud of her courage and positive outlook. She's not only the love of my life, she's an inspiration to all of us who/ve watched her handle this. BamaFan - The add was from Kijiji - it was posted 12-27-07 from the Bay area site on Kijiji. She originally advertised 4 females. When I contacted her, she said she didn't have full registration, but thought she knew someone who did. She e-mailed me with pictures and costs and my wife melted over the puppy we ended up selecting. We're supposed to meet her somewhere near her home today to make the puppy/cash exchange. |

Hello This is Stringer Creek Kennels we are in Alabama we DO NOT sell to brokers knowingly that is one of our first questions asked when someone is purchasing more than one puppy. Unfortunately people are not al3ways honest. When Deanna was ask she stated that they were for her pets only. But in the future we will not sell to her. Please let us know if you have any questions about our breeding program or practices. We try our best to be responsible breeders as should everone.

| BamaFan - No, I'm not. I asked some serious questions yesterday and haven't heard from her since. Since I was supposed to ge the pup today I assume she's decided to let the deal fall through. I think I can get my deposit back through paypal - they offered some good advise that I'll follow as soon as the transaction clears. Even after it clears, they can put a hold on the funds while they review and resolve the dispute I'll file. I am trying to connect to YorkieTalk's Linda44 - she has 2 females in No. California. I'll be calling her shortly. Also, Stringer Kennels has graciously offered to help me locate what I'm looking for - I'll call them if I can't work something out with Linda44. Finally, I'll put a post in the wanted section on YorkieTalk as well. To all of you, thank you so much for your concern. Soon V and I will be proud Yorkie owners and will continue to visit you all for the next couple of decades |

| Yay! I am so glad that you were able to get the information and answers you needed. I really didn't have a good feeling about this person as the situation transpired and was worried you were going to get this pup anyway. (I feel very sorry for the dog though. and would be beyond po'd if I were Stringer Creek!) I hope that you are able to find what you and your lovely wife are looking for and I look forward to your upcoming story of being found by the perfect little Yorkie. |
