Donating YT 11K Club Member | Stomach and booty hair... What do you guys do with it? Teddy's pee gets all over his lower stomach hair and sometimes his poop gets stuck in his butt hair lol Do you use an electric shaver, can i use a regular women's shaver or what? It's hard to cut with a scizzor and doesn't get short enough

| My boys' lower hair can get icky too. I trim the hair on the lower tummy with an electric hair trimmer (made for dogs), but not too close. I leave around an inch of hair. As far as the rear end, I use baby-size safety scissors and trim as close as I can. I also trim the surrounding hair and under the tail. I tried an electric trimmer once and it caused redness and irritation. They were not happy!

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | We shave the boy's lower tummy hair and we shave all of their hineys.....we use an electric razor for pups and looked around until we found one reasonably quiet......as the noisy first one we had scared them and they would not hold still. (It works best if you start this early....as they learn to stand still for you.....our Captain is excellent about being still since I started grooming him myself from 12 weeks.)

| I always trim the hair around the butt...I normally use a #10 blade to clip the hair off right around it. I usually do it once a month. My parents used to have Rylie's belly and lower chest shaved because he would pee on himself, but since he's gotten older he doesn't get pee on his chest anymore. I've heard if you keep a little hair coming off the sheath, it helps the pee shoot in a downward position.

| Yep, yep.... that's what we do with our Shih Tzu... takes just a few minutes and some of the newer clippers are very quiet and easy to handle. I always put a tiny bit of baby oil gel on Ducky's lil' bum and around his winkie where I've shaved since he has sensitive skin - and he's never shown any type of irritation from the shaving.
