| ![]() I keep mine in short cuts, simply because they love to play outside and would always get a bunch of stuff stuck in them ![]() ![]() ![]() If you're going to dress your baby a lot, keeping them short will help keep the mats away. There's always sweaters and coats for cold weather. It's a person choice, really. If you don't have the time for frequent brushing, or the matts keep coming back, then a shorter do is easier on you and the doggy

| ![]() My yorkies have kind of "dictated" their cuts to me over time. I started out with a plan to grow Ginger's hair long. We loved our daily grooming sessions ("mommy and me" time)...and she ended up getting pretty long...but it was not to be. She's loves dirt and water toooooo much and has too many allergies. She's just more comfortable with shorter hair. For awhile I kept a top knot on her, but now she's just my low maintenance girl. Bernie could care less about dirt and water and so far, no allergies (fingers crossed). But, he has this super curly back hair (almost like a poodle)After much trial and error, we've finally found Bernie's look. He's got a schnauzer cut and it works really well on He looks so "manly" and, quite honestly, the curly curls on his back had to go. ![]() I guess what I'm saying is, I think every yorkie has a look that fits. Give it time, you'll figure it out.

| ![]() Bailey has the cotton coat over here. What i thought was good brushing was indeed not good enough as I was playing with his legs and feet and found a big furry mass...indeed it was a matt and he cried when I tried to pick it out... then we got the cutest cut down to 3/4 an inch and his head rounded like a lion - it was a dramatic difference he looked so fat before and now looks little with out his hair, but the cut is very cute on him!! I thought I wanted a long coat...but nah for me. |
