Dog friendly beaches in NJ?

lived in Point Pleasant for a few years...didn't allow dogs and had steep fines...

Live in NC now...beaches are free..clean, all are open to the public and you can bring your dog anytime.

Last weekend when it was so warm & nice out, we took our Yorkie, Amelia, out to the park thinking we could walk her on the beach with us. I ended up walking Amelia in the grassy parking area (away from the beach), then taking her home b/c I didn't want to risk it. I heard from our pool guy last summer that there ARE beaches somewhere here in Monmouth County that allow dogs on leashes. I'm just not sure where.

I live in long branch and there is a dog friendly beach in Deal by the beach club, in Asbury Park to the left of the tower and dogs are also allowed in Sandy Hook. Hope that helped!
