I have a photo album of my Shelby on our coffee table. I am sure there are friends and family that think I am nuts but I don't care. |
Just saw the commercial on Youtube, it is Maria Sharipova the tennis star. The wall of pics is hilarious.:lol tears |
I guess I am lucky when it comes to pictures because my 13 year old & my 6 year old both love taking pictures (they each have digital cameras) and they take pics of the dogs, each other, each other with the dogs, etc so most people don't think I am that crazy on the pics because I get to "show off" my boys photographic skills & have puppy pictures everywhere at the same time:) |
I understand how you feel, because my inlaws were the same way. My family knows better than to tell me anything about my pup. I take my pup everywhere and if they can't accept that then were not going there anymore. The way I see it is if you like it and you know what's best for him, why worry over other people's opionions they don't know what your puppy needs or likes on a day to day basis... so keep that pup dressed. |
This kind of thing happens to me all the time. Bob of course is a Boy but I will put sweaters on him to go to the barn and a nice sweater on him to go to Petsmart or out somewhere when its really cold. He also has a raincoat that I put on him when it rains. I get made fun of all the time because I DO treat him like a little boy but I can promise you that I dont care. I talk to him just like a person when were going down the road. I feed him breakfast and dinner and play games with him. I rush home from work just so I can be with him. I put off doing things because I dont want to leave him. My world really revolves around this dog of mine and I dont care what people think or say. If that makes me a weirdo..Then Im one happy weirdo..So be it. I feel sad for those that have never experienced love like this. |

Part of the joy of owning a Yorkie is dressing him or her in great outfits. Here in New York during the cold weather, I believe that Remi's sweaters and fleece jackets are a must. I would also suggest a raincoat if you do not already have one. He has one with a hood and it is wonderful to bring him in from a heavy rain still relatively dry. You will continue to have fun picking out clothes for pup to wear. It is a great topic of conversation wherever you go. People smile and children have such fun! Enjoy! Happy New Year! |
I've had Sadie for about a year now and never did I put clothes on her. When I first got her it was really cold here so I bought her a sweater, she hated it, managed to get it off every time I put it on her. Then about a month ago I joined YT and saw all the beautiful clothes and accessories, so now I am addicted. I have went crazy buying pajamas and jogging suits for her. My husband thinks I am an idiot. He will come home from work and she will have her clothes on and he just shakes his head. I think my biggest problem is she is the only little girl I will have so I want to dress her up in cute clothes. |
Honestly, I don't get bothered by anyone who says anything about me and my dogs, even family. My two dogs bring me so much joy, and if I want to dress them or take pictures of them, then that's MY business. If no one else likes it, I don't care. My son-in-law is really the only one that makes comments, and I am to the point where I just tell him to shut up. I don't feel that I have to explain myself for anything I do, I'm an adult, I'm not hurting anyone, and so what if I love my dogs.:) |
I dress my little guy, but before I got him I dressed my 45 lb pit bull mix. I don't give a rats behind what ppl think of me. Its really none of their darn business what i do with my dogs. If my dogs hated it I would stop, but my pit pouts if slade has on clothes and she doesn't |
I've only had Piper for a short while and when I first got her I was absolutely sure I would not put clothing on my dog. Ever. Well, after understanding that she has no undercoat and will get cold. And understanding how her little trachea can get injured with a collar, I now have lots of cute clothes that have D rings on them and use them as her harnesses. It's the perfect combination of being practical and stylish at the same time. I still get picked on for the clothing and the bows in the hair, but I feel like I can say that if the dog needs a coat and a harness..and a bow to hold the hair out of her eyes...then hey, why not have it be chic or fun? I think everyone should do what they like with their dogs. If the dog hated the clothing, I can guarantee it would be off in a minute. Yorkies are so good at making sure they are comfortable! |
ignorant I think its rude to go to your home and critisize you and your pet so I would not put to much worth in what they say I dress my dogs and I dont care what anybody thinks |
Please dont feel bad.I had my chihuahua puppy,Jasper"s new sister in a gorgeous dress by Jody (sissyangelwear)red with organzatrim & everyone was making fun of me especially when I was including her in pics. |
Of course there is nothing wrong with dressing your furbabies! I dress mine too. He is a boy but he has all different jerseys, sweaters, tanktops, t shirts and jackets. When I bring Maxi to my grandparents he always has some fancy shirt on. My grandparents always tell me take that shirt off come one he is a dog he doesnt need a shirt. On that I always say its my dog and he will wear that shirt leave it alone. They are old people so I am just thinking they think like that cause back when they were young they never dressed their furbabies. They get on my butt everytime thou lol. I just dont pay attention and say leave my baby alone! lol |
Don't we all just love those kinds of family members The bible says we are always to build each other up, not tear them down. The world would be so much better if people followed this verse. I am a member of the crazy club too. |
