My furkids Donating Member | Sadie is 3 yrs old and stayed gold and black. Lillie had white roots at 8 weeks old. Her face got very light blonde and is now getting a little darker. Her back is turning very silver. Yorkies can change up to 3 yrs old.

| W/ both my girls, their color started to break on their heads early. Trixie's was already broken when she came home and Lexi's broke on her head around 8 weeks. They started breaking along their backs around 6 months. Their color had completely changed at a little over a year. Cody and Kasey both stayed darker. |

| Ours is 16 mos. old and still looks like she did as a tiny puppy. Here head is silverish, her face is dark tan and the rest is dark except for her legs. I don't know if she'll ever be silver. Her sire was copper and her dam was silver. |

| Otis is 6 months old and he is still black, the color on his head changed to a light blonde when he was about 4 months old, both of his parents, grandparents and great grandparents were black and gold or black and tan so he will probably stay black. It doesn't matter to me what color he turns I will love him always and forever!

| Great question! My yorkie is 8 months but started breaking @ about 6 months. The top of his head is coming in white (and has been) and the ends of the white have about an inch of the dark. I have researched and researched but still don't know what it all means. I really wanted a gold/black yorkie but now I really really don't care. Whatever color he turns, he has my whole heart. So don't feel alone about being confused - b/c I am still - just don't let it bother me any more!
