| Size Variations We've had 14 pups in 3 years and I know where 11 of them are. Yankee's 5#s, Yahtzee's 6#s, and Fancee's 5.5#s. One of Fancee's boys came to visit this evening and he's 7#s @ 5 months. His two brothers are between 4#s and 5#s and his sister is around 5#s. What causes such a fluctuation in size? My husband says it's mostly what they eat!

| no, it doesn't have anything to do with what they eat. Well, it can cause them to be obese or not, but it doesn't change their frame & height. It's all due to genetics. You have to take into account all the dogs several generations back in the lines. Unless All of the dogs are a consistant size, then you can get a varaiation in sizes

| Also, on top of genetics, they can have problems with metabolism too..My dogs all eat the same thing, my one yorkie is 14 lbs. she probably eats less than my 6 lb full grown dog..it goes back generations, and you have to always remember, these dogs were bred to be much larger than the standards now.. |

| I just feel bad when this particular couple picked out the smallest boy and now he's the biggest! They are not complaining and are taking awesome care of him. They're a young couple from my daughter's church and have no kiddos, so they have him trained to do several tricks. I'm really proud of the fact that I know where most of my pups are and can see and check on them quite often. It's neat when the new owner calls to tell me the pup's ears started standing up and reporting their accomplishments.

| Size can not be guaranteed Braxton's mom weighed 4.5 pds and his dad weighed 2.5 pds...Guess what Brax weighs????? 14 pds...We still love him but no way would I ever use him to breed any female dog..I think he is way to big for any female. No breeder can tell you for sure how big your puppy will be full grown. I don't care who they are..Brax was a little puppy. My sister has his brother and he weighs 7 pds. He will always be our baby because he was our first yorkie. Here is a few pics of him and his sister Bella.
