| Female Yorkie Humping Cozy within the last week or so has started humping this Lab. retriever stuffed dog. She get out of breath and rests frequently but will do it for hours. If you take the toy away she will howl until she gets it back. She is just finished her 3rd heat and have never humped anything before. She usually sleeps with this stuff dog so it is not new. Anyone know why? Vet says she is fine that it is hormones. I was telling someone at work and she said her dog only did that when she was pregnant and her dog has not done it since.

| As far as humping, it's just as normal for females as it is males.. Are you going to breed her and this is the reason she hasn't been spayed yet?? |

| My Sophie used to hump her stuffed cat, then turned to our male dog.... I was told that it is a sign of dominance..... I guess that might be right, because she is the lead dog in the pack around the house now....

| Meka just went through her first heat last month..and boy what a learning experience It lasted a little over 2 1/2 weeks. I noticed that she wasnt doing much of the "humping" that Ive read about until the end. And she decided to do it on my 5 yr old daughter (thankgoodness she wasnt looking at the time..lol) But, as Martie mentioned above, I can see why she did that to my daughter...if its about trying to prove dominence - ya know... and the second time I caught her, it was with a small pillow she has.... So, yep... Think dominence has something to do with it
