Meka just went through her first heat last month..and boy what a learning experience
It lasted a little over 2 1/2 weeks. I noticed that she wasnt doing much of the "humping" that Ive read about until the end. And she decided to do it on my 5 yr old daughter (thankgoodness she wasnt looking at the time..lol) But, as Martie mentioned above, I can see why she did that to my daughter...if its about trying to prove dominence - ya know... and the second time I caught her, it was with a small pillow she has.... So, yep... Think dominence has something to do with it
