| Another scam!? Hi, I am new here as of today, and I've had Yorkies for over 16 years. I am looking for another one, and in contacting breeders via the internet, I ran into this situation... A "Cheryl Broussard" in IL said her Yorkies had been adopted but a customer of hers just adopted 3 from her and moved to WEST AFRICA. She asked if I would be interested in adopting them. She provided me with "Todd Dinius" email address. Well, I don't want the hassle, but I wasn't going to rule anything out... So today "Todd" replied to my inquiry about transport, would the puppies have a human escort them back to the US, etc., and here is the reply I received: i have 2 females and 1 male Teacup yorkie puppies, i am willing to give out to a good home for adoption, the females are 3 months old while the male is 3 months old .the cost of adopting each of the yorkie puppies is free and shipping is $300,the puppies are presently weighing 2.5lbs now and would weigh between 3 to 4lbs at maturity, they are pottytrained,My babies are so animated and will keep you entertained for hours. Each of them has their own distinct personality.Loving and very affectionate personalites are standard with each of the yorkies. They are very affectionate and like to give kisses all the time. They have the run of the kitchen at different times and are put down for naps just like babies. They do need to rest at various times of the day because they are still infant puppies, they are well socialized with kids and cats and will be your friend if you are the playful type, they just simply love lots of attention.they are uptodate on all shots and wormings and are all current on vaccination i attached pictures of the puppies to your email shipping includes tax, insurance, and the carrier that the puppy is shipped in.I will include with shipment of each puppy is its certified health certificate, vaccination and worming record, copy of USDA paper, AKC registration application for the puppy, its pedigree, tips on care and training your puppy, and your puppy's guarantee.also the airline ticket, an approved carrier with a soft, comfortable bed, health certificate from my vet, a puppy pack including sample food your pup has been eating, a tube of nutri-cal,I also include a special gift to your puppy from me.Everything you will need will be taped to the top of your puppy's carrier.the total cost of shipping and handling one of the puppies is $300.as you know i have a lot of people that are interested in adopting the puppies so let me know when you intend to send payment and your contact details for immediate processing. Thanks Should I even reply to that? Has anyone ran into this before? I think it's a scam, but that's MPO. It makes me ill. Tina |

| Personally, I wouldn't. There are tons of great breeders on here. I would deal with someone here. The email just seemed fishy to me, but after the horror stories I've heard lately I am probably overly cautious!

| These scams have been going rampid everywhere. The scammer will always tell you that they are located somewhere far away so that you can't see them in person. Of course, the puppies are always either free, or a really low price. Then they ask you to send money for shipping and unfortunately there's no puppy. Some people really suck

| That is definetly a scam! I ran into the SAME thing when I was shopping for my puppy. Anytime you are dealing with an Online Breeder. Ask for a phone number, tell them you would like to speak to them in person. Also ask for more or current pictures of the puppies this is all info that they can not provide. Also when purchasing a puppy online ask the breeder if they will use Escrow.com. You send the money to Escrow.com first. They only release the money to the seller when you received the puppy and give them the OK. I was so discouraged by these online scams that I just waited and found a local breeder. I actually paid a LOT less than any price I saw online and I got a nice healthy yorkie, delivered to my door by the breeder himself. |

| This IS a scam. One guy tried that on me a while back, he sent me several emails trying to get money out of me, I finally told him to pay for the shipping himself & include a copy of the bill & upon a healthy vet checkup I would send him the money to reimburse him for the actual shipping costs - he never emailed me again!

| Reply and tell them that you have relatives that live in the same area in Africa(whereever) they are and would like to come see and take a pic of the puppy. I bet they will not contact you again!!

I reported it to Yahoo- but since no crime has been committed- I doubt if anything can be done- but I hope if people report stuff like this- someday- it will catch up to them! If no one reports- NOTHING WILL BE DONE TO STOP THEM! aT LEAST i TRIED- IS WHAT i FEEL! |

| Even as a breeder myself with puppies to sell, I get these everyday from people trying to sell ME a puppy. I guess it's because I have my own posted a few places online. be very careful. |
