| OMG I was there this weekend too. In Lake Stevens? They were so stinkin cute. When I was there, there were 3 of them. Listed as CKC Registered "Teacup" Yorkies. If you noticed at the bottom in the smaller print it said no guarantee of being purbreed yorkie, something or other like that. It was sad.

Yes, Lake Stevens. There were only two when I was there. I didn't notice the small print stating that there was no guarantee that they were purebred, and they still want that much? How can they be registered if they're not sure if they're purebred? The owners of that store seem pretty nice but they sure get a lot of puppies moving through there. They've got to be from puppy mills.

| Not sure. Maybe I read it wrong but I'd swear that's what it said.

CKC is no a reputable registry. They don't have strict standards like the AKC. You can register any dog with the CKC. I believe all you have to do is send in a couple pictures of the dog and have two witnesses sign that it is purebred. We all know that a lot of mixes can appear to be purebred and a lot of purebreds can look like mixes. And you could have anyone sign as a witness. So who knows if a lot of those CKC registered dogs are really purebred. I'm sure there are some good CKC breeders out there, but because of their unstrict policies, it has become a haven for backyard breeders and puppymills. You won't see nearly as many AKC registered pups in petstores as you will CKC, ACA, APRI, APR, etc..

http://www.prisonersofgreed.org/Pennsylvania.html I've noticed a lot of the shady internet breeders use God, the Bible, etc. on their website just to try to give themselves credibility. It's amazing how many people will fall for their deception if they believe the people are Christian. | |
