| A lot of show breeders are very picky about who they sell their dogs to, especially with showing and breeding rights. It's probably best to find a mentor by attending dog shows and meeting show breeders. There is a show breeder in Oklahoma that has a show prospect listed on her website now - www.yorkieshowdogs.com You may want to e-mail or call her. Good Luck

| As others have said, your best bet is to find a mentor that will take you under their wing. When we started to get into breeding/showing a few years ago, my wife's co-worker and good friend mentored us. She has been breeding/showing Yorkies for over 20 years and has two of the top ten ranked Yorkies in the country (which we use as stud for our girls). She actually GAVE us our first Yorkie (Samantha) as a gift and to help us get started. We (as many breeders do) have a spay/neuter clause in our contract. If you find a breeder that will allow full registration rights, expect to pay more than thier typical going rate for a pet quality pup. Good luck.

| I would seriously have to question any breeder who would just turn over a CH sired dog with full rights, no questions asked. Most will come with strict stipulations attached, with good reason, IMO. Last edited by BamaFan121s; 12-05-2007 at 05:30 AM. |

| My advise is to take your time and go to many shows. Get to know the breeders and you will find one you will click with but don't think for a moment that because a pup is championed sired it is going to be the quality you want. DON'T get a dog from the internet Good Luck!!

| All have given great advice.....and prepare to be patient.....most show people waited, searched and worked along time before obtaining their first show dog.....you may want to seek out Saleswoman on YT, she's been searching for ages. As a member on YT once said, and it's not meant to be sarcastic...If you want a short cut, go to a barber.
