| ![]() Another tip, when you advertise your puppies always ad a disclaimer that you reserve the right to cancel a sale at anytime before it is finalized. i try to remember to put it in mine all the time but sometimes I forget. I have been known to cancel sales a few times to YT members because of finding out they lied on the application or finding out that it would have been a terrible home. On those occasions, certainly, I gave the deposits back. The safety of your puppies should always be first and foremost in your mind. It is very hard to screen people but it can be done. There are many ways to check people out after they fill out applications to see if they are telling the truth or not. I have only had one person that did not get the pup and I did not give her deposit back. In fact, SHE told me to keep it because I had held the puppy for several weeks turning other people down and she decided she wanted another breed that would work better for her. |

| ![]() Like people have already said, Christmas is a really busy time of year, and probably not the best time to get a new puppy. If I were you, I'd hold on to the puppies until the new year at this point. You can find homes for them, but don't let them go until things have calmed down a bit. Good luck!

| ![]() I'm kind of on the fence with the whole holiday placement thing. I've just had to judge case be case with our previous, "holiday litters." In cases where holidays will be hectic, with travel and family visiting, I'd prefer to hold the pup until afterwards, but in some cases, I think it's actually better. For example, I placed 2 litter mates with a mom and daughter at 11 wks the week before Christmas. The mom was visiting from out of town (12 hours away) and was staying with the daughter who was off work for 2 weeks and lived 15 minutes away from me. No traveling or hectic family coming in and plenty of time to devote to the pups. If an issue came up with mom's pup, she was 15 min away rather than 12 hrs. Both had made several trips to the house to play and bond with the pups, both having owned Yorkies for years. To me, that was far better. Again, something I think you have to judge case by case, but as a general rule, it IS something to be cautious about. "Pups in time for a Christmas Present" should not be a selling point, IMO. |

| ![]() You don't have to return her deposit. I'd take it easy with trying to find them homes as their still young. I'm sure a lot of people are really busy with the holidays, and unable to even get to the paper. Did you advertise on here?

| ![]() deposits are non-refundable. and take your time. people will come, they always do for yorkies. don't be in such a rush to "get rid of them." They deserve the BEST HOME POSSIBLE and sometimes, you have to wait for that right person.
