| Hello Everyone I am not a yorkie owner yet however we do have one in our home as of this past Saturday. She is a stray with a few health issues I would like to keep her if noone claims her but hubby says she cannot stay Anyway I call her smelly dog or cheeky as I do not want to name her as names bring further attachment then what is already there. I have wanted a Yorkie for well over ten years now and it is by the grace of god that I now have one in my home. First thing I did when I came in with her was to bathe her as she stunk to high heaven. Then while I was drying her I gave her a bit of food and a good look over. She has a lump on her back and one between her back legs on her tummy. She is missing a couple of front teeth and is in desperate need of dental care. Took her to the vet today to have her scanned fr chip and no surprise she does not have one. Vet says will cost at least 125.00 pounds to get her teeth done and as I spent my free money just taking her to the vets looks like I won't get to keep her as this NEEDS to be done and her health is my priority. I have contacted the local animal shelters but refuse to hand her over to them as she is old and the chance of her finding a new home are slim to none... she has a cataract in one eye her bum is bald and she is lumpy and smelly. I think she is gorgeous though. Anyway hope you guys don't mind me posting here just was looking for a yorkie rescue group when I came across this and wanted a place to pour my heart out. Husband does not want me to get attached but it is too late love her to pieces already she has a TON of attitude and heart. Well better go search some more for a rescue group bye all and thanks for letting me steal your forum for a bit. |

| I would love to keep her but because she needs the dental care, her teeth are unseeable due to the buildup on them he does not even want to be in the same room with her. She smells worse then old gym socks... trying to post a picture of her on the site but can't figure out how to get it from my phone to my email |

| Have you done a search for a Yorkie Rescue in your area? I came across these two website, maybe they can point you in the right direction in case they are not able to help. http://adopt-a-yorkie.1-800-save-a-pet.com/ http://www.dogpages.org.uk/breedt.htm. Too bad you can't keep her. I do hope you can find a good home for her. Good Luck!

| Oh my, Cheeky is wonderful and wants you as much as you want her. I do hope and hold my breath in anticipation that your husband will "cave in to Yorkie passion" and allow her to share your home with you all. Please keep us updated and hugs to Cheeky!

| I dunno think it is going to be hard as he refers to yorkies as Rats... But I have told him for as long as we have been married and maybe longer I was gunna own a rat one day... I am not sure he believes I found her though cause it was just the day before, last Friday, that I said I was going to buy a puppy as soon as I had saved up to do it. Thank you for the framed picture as soon as I can get her to stay still again I will take more pictures and let you all see her again. At this time she is hasselling the heck out of my border collie and scaring my lab. It is funny watching the big coward run from her every time she gets within 4 feet of him. She had a bit of a snarl at him on saturdayso he is avoiding her like the plaque now. Will keep you all updated though |

| Oh, it's so sad that she has not had the care she deserves. Hopefully you will get to keep her. If not, I know you'll see she is placed in a rescuer's hands. How kind you are! |
