What MeganS said is correct! My little boy shakes and he is very nervous all the time. If you really want to see him shake just put him in a car, he has a heart attack and even starts drooling!

It's hard to tell sometimes. But when it's a serious low blood sugar attack you will know the difference. I played it safe and use to give my puppy nutrical at least 3-4 times a day. They shake sometimes for several reasons, they might be cold, scared, nervous, excited, hypoglycemia(low sugar) We usually keep our central A/C temp at 73 degrees during the day and my husband likes to keep it at 69-70 at night. When it gets below 73,my yorkies start to shake. I dress them in pj's or keep them with fleece blankies. If strangers come to the house they will shake also. Just in case keep a tube of nutrical nearby...
How much does your furbaby weigh? I took my furbaby to a vet because I was so worried.I know it's scary especially if it's your first yorkie. Have youtaken any pictures of it yet?? I'd love to see!

One of my dog shakes when she gets nervous or excited and the other doesn't. Since you don't know if your new puppy just shakes I would treat it as hypoglycemia and give it some nutrical. Later on you will have a better idea of your puppies tendencies.

Its a nutritional supplement that has sugar in it. You ncan get it at places like petco or petsmart or from your vet. If you don't have it you can give a little karo syrup instead. You really should have some of this on hand for a new puppy so if there are any hypoglycemia problems. Some people give it as a preventative just a little dot of it three times a day. I didn't but kept it on hand.

Your baby has been removed from all that is familiar and is in a totally new situation..He is totally scared and insecure..He has some maturing to do is a bit young for all the excitement..
Shaking can be a vicious cycle- they have low blood sugar and they shake. Shaking use tremendous amounts of energy. So, treat it as if it were hypoglycemia and give your baby a little Nutrical or Nutristat. Yorkies seem to be natural shakers and movers but it is best to err on the side of caution and give him the "stuff" 2-4 times a day. ALSO, either free feed (which is preferable) or feed 4 times a day and make sure he is eating the food. They eat small amounts so just put an amount down that will show you if he is eating..Maybe a tablespoon and watch to see how much of that he eats. Did the breeder tell you about his eaating habits? If not, contact them for that info.
And, welcome to the "always worried about our puppies" owners club..LOL

I agree. Get the nutrical and give him a little few times a day. Most dogs love it, he will lick it off of your finger. Great stuff, high in calories and at 1.5 lbs. it's important to watch out for him.

I put a little in my baby's food to get her interested in eating now.

Is your pup eating?

Thats good that he is eating. Eating or not eating is what usually tells me if something is wrong. He probably just got ecited and thats why he was shaking.

Cry Misses his Abuelita (grandma in spanish)

I think any type of change tends to freak them out.
My Chicle right now is suffering from separation anxiety due to the departure of my parents. Whenever I was away from the house ie. work, outings etc. my mother was ALWAYS there. My parents left the country on friday and wont be back till November and believe me he KNEW they were gone. Everytime the doorbell rang he went to see who it was, expecting it to be my parents, and when it he realized it wasnt them he would start to shake and run straight to the bathroom and just curl up and lay there SHAKING... this freaked me out, I would just whip out the Nutrical and at first his shaking bout lasted 1 hour. After crying and worrying about him my sisters and i came up with the idea of getting an old shirt of my mom's and IT TOTALLY WORKED....(Check out the pic below, that blue shirt that hes laying on is my mom's) he just pulled it close to him and he layed on top of it. Now the shaking episodes last 30mins and the time keeps getting lower, i guess hes getting used to it.

Use the Nutrical and just keep observing him... i would leave him alone for a bit then i could coaks him to play with me and he would come around.
hang in there and good luck ... they say it gets easier as time goes by ... everyday is a learning experience with these lil guys.

What a sweet picture. It makes me sad that we need to place our babies in other homes-whether it is forever or just temp. We cannot explain to them the circumstances so we have to deal with their insecurities and the results.. We are so responsible for these little souls that we have chosen to share our homes and lives with. Mercy me, that is a BIG responsibility..

I wouldn't worry too much..... it seems that Yorkies are a bit nervous. Meeko shakes if he is happy, excited, sad, nervous and even upset. Go figure,
