| Another Grooming Question... When I took Tino and Bunny to the groomer today, she asked if I wanted her to "pluck Tino's eyes or use the clippers?" I thought she was talking about his ears, but I had just watched her pluck them so I was totally confused. I said "what do you pluck around his eyes???" And she told me that you are supposed to either pluck that hair in the corner of the eye or clip it so that their tear ducts don't get clogged. I don't want clippers near his face after the old groomer shaved it, so I had her pluck them and he didnt mind a bit. The woman that groomed him today has been doing it for 18 years up in Philadelphia and said that she used to groom her friend's show Yorkies up there, so she knew what she was doing. This was a new one to me and I read everything!!! Has anyone else ever heard of this?

| I have never heard of that. I got both of my dogs groomed recently but they got puppycuts. The hair in that area was cut real short but not plucked.

| Never heard of that, it's sounds kind of scary. I would ask the vet about that one...

| Jeez! I think I am going to have to google this bc its going to drive me crazy! I thought for sure someone would have heard to it! My vet won't be open again until Tuesday... I'll let you know what I find, but hoping that Recon'sMom will post since she's a groomer or that Pat or Rini will have heard of it....

| hair With my pets I do cut the hair at the corners of the eye..the part closest to the nose..never thought about plucking it out. ??? If the hair lays down, there is no problem, but many Yorkies have short face ahir and it sticks in the eyes and they water. |

Do you see any danger in having it plucked versus cutting it? It looks a alot better today bc there are no little clumps of hair right there by his nose/eyes.

| From where I was sitting, it looked like she held him so that she and Tino were both facing out and she was holding his body with her forearm and face with the same hand and then took her other hand and just pinched the hair and plucked.
