| Happy Ending So my DH who has never taken Ollie for a car ride decided to take him to the gas station with him tonight. Before he left i had lots of instructions---for example: crack the window - keep him upright cause he sometimes gets car sick....if he gets car sick he will look for your hand and will throw up in it if you hold it open for him then just toss it out the window...do not open the door if he is standing on the other side against it cause he will not jump back but will fall out....etc... Never ever in a million years did i think to tell him to carry 8 month old Ollie to the car!!!!!! He walked out with him unleashed and ZOOM Ollie took off --- DH ran inside to get our help and my 13 year old son and i took off (30 degrees out) with no shoes or coat in search of him in the dark-- I WAS SO AFRAID!!!! Son caught a glimpse of him running in the back yard across the street. We chased him around this house a few times then i heard son yell- i got him!!!! Apparently the neighbors had there sun room door cracked for their dog Shadow (Ollies good friend) (who has an electric fence) and Ollie went into there HOME and sat there barking for Shadow and my son didnt know what to do so he stood outside their door and he said he could see them on the other side of the sun room watching tv and shadow came running -then lights came on and my son said through there door--"May i come in and get my Ollie?? He got out." LOL So as my DH now stood next to his car (extremely RELIEVED!) and son and i walk by... he says ok let me have him i am leaving and i said NO way- are you kidding --you think i am going to let you take him to a gas station when you lost him going to the driveway!!! LOL This is an example of why your dog should be trained to COME!!! We are going to work on that but Ollie is just so stubborn about the come demand! He knows it and will come if he feels like it. Is there any hope that he will COME when he grows up? We were so LUCKY! |

| OMG! I am so glad that it was a happy ending. I laughed so hard about not letting DH take him to the gas station after losing him at the driveway. It seems sometimes we need to explain everything so completely detailed and I can totally relate... Good luck with Ollie's training and I just love his name too!

| Ok, I am really not trying to be a smart butt, but I have read post that had DH in them and think I have figured out that it either means Dear Husband or Dumb Husband...am I right?
