				   | My girls are my bitches and the dog fanciers know exactly what you are talking about. A bitch is not a "Dam" until she is a mother. A male dog is not a "sire" until he is a daddy. BTW, I don't go round saying come here "you bitch". They have names. But if I happen to have to call the vet, I tell him one of my bitches is sick. |

| Donating YT 11K Club Member | When i refer to my girls or other female dogs to other ppl i don't use that word, i say female or the girl. But in the privacy of my home when i am playing around with London i call her a bitch, it's kinda like a nickname for her but i say it playing around not seriously, ill say it like 'come here my little bitch' or hey bitch. That's because London actually acts like a bitch to the others lol, if you knew her you would know why, that's why the name has stuck sometimes but Sophie is sweet so i don't call her that. I call her sweetie or my sweet sophie. It all has to do with their personalities. It's a little weird hearing other ppl call female dogs bitches sometimes.

				   | I tell mine all the time she's being a bitch! The oldest yorkie that was always so sweet(since she has had the tumor removed), is a real bitch...If she starts picking on one of the 2 she tends to pick on, or showing her teeth, I say, "stop being a bitch", then she just rolls over(very submissive)like okay, now, give me a belly rub.. |

				   | There is no reason for a pet owner to use the term if it bothers them....unless a person breeds/shows it does not come up in the conversation... I think I use girl, female when relying to a pet owners post..but bitch in breeding/showing posts... Last edited by YorkieRose; 11-23-2007 at 07:58 AM. |

				   | I couldn't call my dog that either. It's just a personal preference.

				   | I don't actually call her a bitch, I tell her to stop being a bitch! She's really getting bad, and not even 5 yet! |

				   | Maybe this is how language changes through the years, but IMO, I think it's a shame. Also, maybe we're thinking about it wrong. We should start using it more often the way it was originally meant to be used. You know, take the word back. Like 'gay'. Let's take the word back and start using it again per it's original meaning. You guys start and I'll be right behind you. |

| No Longer a Member | The term used to bother me, but I occasionally use it in a joking manner. For example, I often refer to myself as one , so when Chloe is dressed up looking really pretty, I like to quote Austin Powers from the 2nd movie,"We are sexy bitches!" |
