| Dang fleas! I use Revolution on Delilah each month. I guess since she is bathed each week it looses its effectiveness cause she gets fleas before it is time for the monthly dose. Makes me wonder about her heart worm protection! Anyway, I was wondering if any of you have ever used alcohol on your babies skin. I was gonna use a bit on cotton ball to try to pick these fleas off....this is the way I have done it in the past with other dogs/cats. The alcohol seems to stun the fleas long enough for you to pick them off.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | in some areas revolution does not last long enough. I'd try Frontline next time to compare. Tests have shown that the flea and tick protection of revolution sometimes only lasts 3 weeks, while frontline can last up to 8 weeks

| flea problems! Sargie picked up a flea somewhere on his walks and by the time we discovered them he was covered with flea dirt. The small-dog Hartz 4-way protection almost killed him, so the vet gave me Myconex shampoo (didn't help) and then Protocall (didn't help). He said Advantix and Frontline might be too much since the Hartz hurt him - anyway, he said the Protocall would do the same thing...doesn't appear to have done it. The only thing that seemed to work is Zodiac Puppy Flea and Tick Spray. It is supposed to repel them and kill eggs, which I am not sure it did so well, but if you spray it according to the directions on the pup, the adult fleas will drop off dead or dying within minutes. More of a problem is getting fleas out of house - I vacuumed, washed, bleached, sprayed this eucalyptus-clove stuff from Target which is supposed to kill fleas, ticks and eggs - on carpets, sofas, bed, pillows, floors, everything. I think the cold has finally knocked them off. Fingers crossed -- |
