| We're seeing success! For the first time Max just "told" me that he had to go potty. As I was walking across the living room he ran in front of me and kept looking back at me. I could tell he was wanting my attention and sure enough, he ran to the door and looked back and forth between it and me. I got his leash, took him out and he tee-tee'd right away. I am sooooo excited!!! There will be a million more accidents I'm sure (he still doesn't hold it 100% of the time in his crate) but this is a great step in the right direction!

| Congrats! Though a little stubborn, they catch on... Your lil guy is growing If your training him to go outside, have you thought about the potty bells? Lots of members seem to use those with outside training and it might help you "know" exactly when he's ready to go... Cant wait to see pics

| Mizbrown, I've read about the bell and it sounds like a great idea. I thought about using it but I have a 2 1/2 year old son and 9 month baby girl and I know they would be ringing that bell all day long. I think that would be confusing for Max. Here's a pic from the other day;

| Bells and kids I know I want to use a bell so bad but I know my 2yr old would ring it all day too. Although I could put it at the bottom of the stairs and try that. My skin baby can't get down there but fur baby can (although she doesn't like to squeeze through... rather wants you to open the gate wide and take 2 steps down before she will follow). It's a thought. Anyone else got bell like ideas that work for people w/ young children? |
