| Welcome to Y.T.....Yes, the tinies need extra care, they have to eat every couple of hours to prevent hypoglycemia and if the get a bout of diarrhea and/or vomiting they can get dehydrated very quickly and it would require a visit to the vet asap the could die... There's so much more on this site for you to read up on, look around in all the forums and you can do searches for specific items of interest....it's great your wanting to do some research....welcome again.....

| Tiffany was about that size at 5 months I imagine. She is 2 years old and 2 lbs now. Just take extra special care of her, which I'm sure you will! Good luck! We would love to see her pictures!!

| I currently have a 11 month old who weighs 1.5 - 2.0 lbs. You have to be extra careful with them. Even dropping something on the floor is dangerous if they happen to be under you. And putting a bell on them is also recommended. Lily wears a breakaway cat collar with a bell on it so I can hear her when she is close to my feet. And watch out for predators, not only hawks and owls but even cats can be dangerous. I have had 2 stray cats try to get Lily. You also have to make sure that there is not a reason for being so small. Some common causes are Liver Shunt, MVD/HMD, and Hydrocephalus. Be sure to request a Bile Acid Test, full blood panel, and look for an open font. It's always better to be safe than sorry with these little ones.
