| I don't know how to....... train my little Rocco not to bark at absolutely NOTHING. LOL He is so funny I can't help but laugh at him but his sudden interest in barking is causing some problems. Rocco sleeps with me so when my alarm goes off in the mornings at 5:30 I immediately take him outside to do his business. Because at this time the grass is wet he is quick to do his stuff and get back inside. Once inside though he is wound up and just starts barking and barking and barking and barking for no reason which in turn wakes the rest of my household up (children and husband who works nights) which means that everyone is "grouchy" and it also means that "mommy" doesnt get "her" guiet time in the morings. Does anyone have suggestions on how to break him from barking so much? He is only 3.5 months and I know he's just fascinated with it but its starting to get annoying. |

| When you figure it out let me know! Pumpkin's about the same age and she's a little barker too but mostly just when playing (either with her sister or with me)- we tried a squirt bottle (I don't think she ever figured out why we were squirting her), pennies in a coke can (just scared her sister and she kept on going), and now we have this thing that's supposed to make a noise when the pups bark (I don't think it works because it has to be continuous barking/her bark is too high pitched or something- though I can set it off and that worked for like 5 minutes til she decided to ignore it). So anyway let me know when you figure it out! lol You might want to try the squirt bottle- that works on my little one to make her stop whining- how big is your pup? the smaller the better I think it would work! Good luck! |

| Well Roo is 2.25 and Pumpkin (the barker) is 3.8. I'd give the squirt bottle a try anyway though...especially try to get it in the mouth area- it confuses them although my two both lick it up if I get it on their noses. Not to change the subject but how big do you think yours is going to get- I'm so worried that Pumpkin's going to be HUGE! She gained a whole pound since we got her 3 weeks ago! |

| Delilah also barks at the air and everything else. She is a 6 pounder, but I'll try the spray anyhow. As to size, my first Yorkie outweighed his sire and dam combined by the time he was 6 months old! Yes, I wanted a little-bitty one, but he was so sweet and bright that I absolutely adored him. By the time he was fully grown, he wasn't a teacup or teapot -- more like a stew pot. |

August 4- 2 days after my birthday =) She's finally growing into her paws I think. When we got her at 11 weeks (a little early but she was actually more adjusted than Roo- who we got at like 13 weeks). The breeder said she'd be about 6-8 lbs so I'm hoping that she's right but the vet said more like 10-12!! I'm a little glad that she'll be bigger because Roo is so little and gets sick so easily! I know that Roo only doubled her weight (she was 1.12 lbs when we got her and at 10 months she's 2.4 and has stayed there for about a month or so). Oh well fingers crossed! =)

| Aww yeah they do except I guess Pumpkin's a little bigger (sigh) does Rocco chow down on his food? Pumpkin gobbles all of hers and then tries to get Roo's too!! Here they are: 1. Pumpkin 2. Roo and Pumpkin on Halloween- we tired them out! =) 3. Roo's first bath 4. Pumpkin's first bath (as you can see from the pictures of Roo and Pumpkin in the sink Roo is significantly smaller than Pumpkin at the same age- it's hard to see the size difference in any of the other pictures I have of them together because they're so close up and they kinda blend together) Can I see a pic of Rocco? Do you have any others or is he the only? We'll have to keep in touch to see how big each actually gets! Oh and I don't know if I mentioned before but Pumpkin is a Yorkipoo not a full yorkie! |

| Okay, I think that Pumpkin is about the cutest thing I have ever seen. I love the YorkiePoos but I like fuzzy/fury dogs and they seem to stay that way longer than a full Yorkie. Anyway, let's definately stay in touch. Here are some photos of Rocco. I also have a 4 year old dachshund. Picture 1 - Rocco first day we got him Picture 2 - first day also Picture 3 - about 9 weeks old - (he's had a trim since this pic - to me he looks huge in this one) Picture 4 - just this week (he seems to be starting to loose his puppy fuzz so he looks smaller now - is that normal?) <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc146/SDR131/100_2157.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc146/SDR131/100_2151.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc146/SDR131/100_2264.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc146/SDR131/100_2360.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a> |

Awww Rocco looks so much like Pumpkin (well in his first pics anyway)! Pumpkin is actually losing a lot of her puppy fur as well though we haven't been able to get her groomed yet so she's still pretty furry but she's already losing the black around her face. She's pretty much all white there now though she's still pretty brown on her ears etc. I think she's definitely going to stay a little furball! Anyway Roo used to be just as fuzzy as Pumpkin and Rocco and is now completely silky/gray and silver vs her black and tan puppy look. Here are more pics: 1. Roo as a pup 2. Roo now- she's soooo much more silver and looks smaller even than she was in the first picture but she's actually doubled in size (though since she's only 2 lbs still doubling is not much lol!) So how do your two get along? Do they play etc or would they rather just cuddle with you most of the time? My two are lying next to me on the couch right now but not really cuddling...they like each other/play together but I'm not sure they'll ever really love each other =( Does your dachshund seem to like playing around with Rocco like a pup or does he kinda get sick of all the rough housing? And how old/big is he?

My two are kind of like you described your two. They tollerate each other and play sometimes but Patch (our dachshund) has really mellowed out and prefers to just lay around and be loved on. Where as Rocco of course is all puppy and wants to play. So I'm like you I don't know that they will ever LOVE each other but they are okay for now. Patch is 4 years old and very much overweight right now because my 2 year old son thinks its cute to feed him half of everything he eats so we are working on getting that stopped.
