| Hi, I'm new to the sight. I just love it here I have been reading for hours. [F][/FONT] My little yorkie is two years old. She is a doll baby, but we've had nothing but health problems with her from the get go. Bought her from a supposedly good quality breeder, but her vet says she has a liver shunt. They didn't think she would make it a year and she is still with us. She's had a couple close calls but has always pulled through. I take her to two different vets. One of which gives her acupuncture. Don't laugh, it really works. If she is late on her monthly treatments she gets listless fast. I highly recomend acupuncter, and a lot of love. Has anyone else had problems with their babies having liver shunt problems? I hear it happens to Yorkies alot. Which I didn't know that. If so, what ages are your little ones? Do you do anyting special to help them survive? Any knowledge would be much appreciated. My bset to you and yours. JanetL |

| Welcome to YT - I think you will love this warm, informative forum. I totally believe in acupuncture!! It saved the life of one of my Bichons when he had a stroke and was paralyzed. Others here have also had success with treatments.

| Welcome to YorkieTalk. Is the shunt intrahepatic or extrahepatic?
