Chunk, our 12 pound yorkie Hello everyone. We are new to YorkieTalk and this is our first entry. We have a 12lb chocolate yorkie. We've had our sweet baby boy since he was 9 weeks old. He shares his home with 3 other dogs, Sparky, (rott/shepard mix), Gertie, (pom/chi mix), Molly,(bassett), and 2 birds. I thank God our dogs all love each other. We are having a heck of a time potty training Chunk. The other dogs just basically taught each other. The younger dog would just mimic the older dog. But not Chunk. He would rather go on his potty mats. He pretty much gets the pad about 80% of the time. We are so thankful we don't have carpet in our house. I forgot to mention that our little Chunk also likes to play and eat his poop. We are dealing with this. We've tried the pineapple and I think it did work for awhile but we need to be more consistent. We are so happy of our choice of getting a yorkie. At first I was disappointed that he kept growing. But I now know it is for the best. He would not be able to hold his own with the other rough siblings. Bye and remember to tell your babies you love them everyday

I've got a 13 week old yorkie that is eating her poop and the other dogs if I don't get to it first(they're all pad trained)..I just bought some stuff for them that is supposed to keep them from eating it..this is called potty mouth, and it's a tablet, or you can get some forbid from the vet, you sprinkle it on the food and it makes it taste nasty..I like the pill better as they chew it up..How old is your little guy? I have one yorkie that is almost 5 and she weighs 14 lbs.. More to love!!

Welcome to YT! My yorkie used to eat poop too, she turned 1 year old last month and rarley eats it anymore. The only thing that worked for me was Forbid. I think she just grew out of it. As for the house training, GOOD LUCK! Yorkies are notorious for being hard to house break.

for the poop eating, you can also try putting a little bit of meat tenderizer on their food, that's supposed to make it taste bad too..this is really a very common thing(although, it's a really gross thing)..

| Welcome to YT! Can't wait to see pictures of your pups! Yorkies can be stubborn to train and I have a 9 month old female that is being very stubborn about potty training...and I've also caught her eating poo a few times. Ick...my other yorkie never thought of trying that, thank goodness!
