| ![]() Welcome to YT! While yorkies can be hard to housebreak, they are more than worth the many "clean ups" that might occur. Our oldest yorkie, Bruiser, is 12 lbs too and there is just more to love. We have a tiny guy, Marcus, who is almost 6 months and just barley tips the scale at 2 lbs even. There are many things that I just love about Bruiser, but what I appreciate now more than ever is his weight. He is a rough and tumble kind of guy. I don't have to worry about him jumping off the couch or bed and breaking his leges. He is more sturdy and can play rougher than than Marcus. (He also makes for a great pillow when cuddling ![]() ![]()

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | ![]() Lulu sends warm yorkie hugs and kisses. Good luck..it will happen eventually. Lulu just turned 1 year old a week ago and has been having an accident here and there even though she had been very good since she was 8 months old. So we just have to grin and bear it and work with them Good luck and looking forward to hearing more about your pack. Post a picture for us to see please. We love pictures.

| ![]() We have a Yorkie with beautiful curly hair. This family member (Gunner) is twelve pounds! His curly hair makes him look hugh. No one believes he's a yorkie, he is. I am new to these wonderful dogs and will never go back, God I love my dog. Anyway, he's active, apparently not obese...Is this ormal to have such a large Yorkie? Thanks Brian in MN |

| ![]() My Yorkie never had this problem until I took her to the vet because she was overweight. The vet put her on Science Diet (one of the worst dog foods). He said that she needed to be on that food as it would cause her to lose weight. That was when she started to eat dog stools (her own and any others). I took her off the dog food after about two months, as she had not lost any weight and was hungry all the time. After about another two months of putting her on a top rated dog food (grain free his protein) she quit eating poop. I believe the Science Diet dog food has such poor nutritional value that she was trying to get it elsewhere. Take a look at this website (this is just one of several) that rates dog food. Dog Food Comparison Chart - Dog Food Ratings of Premium Dog Food and Supermarket You can see how Science Diet fared in this rating (listed under Hills) |
