Living in a condo Bud is never off leash of course. Walking at night is scary when you think of those darn coyotes. I hope they are not back! It's lit pretty good where we live. Maybe I'll just also carry a flashlite. That might be a good idea.

| ![]() That is what I think it is. A coyote or wolf scent would be different from a pet dog so your little guy would think it strange and probably fearful. |

| ![]() It must have been some kind of smell of a wild animal of some kind. I was walking Rickles and in the far, far off distance there was a very faint bark and Rickles took off and practically drug me the rest of the way. I need both my knees replaced (going in November to have first one done) so you can imagine how I was trying to run behind him. It even got me spooked and I got scared which only made him more afraid and run even faster. I was so glad no one was around because we must have looked crazy with this look of panic on both our faces going 90 to nothing down the sidewalk and me making a jerky kind of hop because my knees can't work that fast. He has never done that sense and we have heard dogs barking in the distance many times. I can't imagine what made that time so different. I now can laugh about how funny we must have looked but at that moment believe me it wasn't funny. |

Sorry to hear you need knee replacement surgery. I know how you must have felt, hair going up on the back of your neck right? Bud growls in the dark when we're walking and it creeps me out because I can't see anything but I know he scences things. I hate walking at night but have no choice. Well this morning we went back, because it's where he potties the second time in the am and he peed where he smelled the scent. He still smelled it ,tail was between his legs but he peed there then ran away dragging me with him. I hope it rains soon maybe that will cover the scent whatever it was. Just plain weird.
