| Drop it command, yippee! I am so happy that I teach the "DROP IT" command as the very first command to my Yorkies. I just opened a new prescription and the bottle was full. I spilled several caps and I really wasn't sure how many. You see, around here when mom gets her nightime doses, it is gonna be treat/bed time soon so they are always under my feet. I just kept repeating the command as I shook out their bed and searched for the capsules. These meds were not poisonous to them, but they are really expensive (just kiddin'). Actually, I don't think they would hurt them but you never know. I found them all and 7 little mouths got treats and praise and more praise!! I LOVE THESE BABIES They make me happy. |

| Wow! Great going mom on the training! Had you not insisted that it be learned, you might have had an unfortunate situation on your hands -- and on a Friday night at that!

| Another good training lesson learned from a master. Some people don't think training (other than pottie training) a yorkie is important because they are so small and they think their stubborn terrier personalities are cute. I think this is a good example of where training is possibly a life saver and definitley a safety concern. Your comment about the pills being expensive was priceless! I had an incident the other day where I broke a glass in the kitchen and I had to make every dog sit and stay until I cleaned it up. Even little Chai who finds it very difficult to sit still for any length of time, stayed where she was told! I was so proud of them all. The time you spend everyday training them pays off big time over the course of their lifetime. |
