What is the youngest you would suggest to start using the bells? They sound like a great idea.. She knows what "outside" means...but doesn't always let us know she needs to go....

Start now! Never too early; never too late. Just keep doing it and repeating the same phrase (whatever you decide to use) over and over again. It's goofy sometimes and even my husband said to give it up! I told him no - we are going to do this because Izzy is a smart cookie and she'll get it sooner or later...and she did. She uses her nose to bop the bells more than using her paw to get our attention. But I noticed now the more we ignore her when she uses her nose - she'll get louder with banging them and once I did catch her using her paw, but mostly she uses her nose for the noise.

Funny You Should Write About This. We Used, Of All Things A Cowbell On Our Patio Door And Along With Some Coaching And Doggie Treat Reinforcement It Proved To Be Amazing. And Just Like Yours, Our Dogs Like To Use It To Just Go Out And Play.. Hang Out And Not Neccessarily Poop And Pee Outside. I Figure What The Heck... It Works So Why Mess With It.. But... Some Days They Make Us Nuts With It !!!!! Mine Also Use Their Noses As Well!!!! Very Funny Stuff
