| Obedience Training My husband and I are getting a puppy in a few weeks. It will be 10 weeks when we bring him home. There is a really good Obedience class that we are thinking of signing up for with a highly recommended place. Its a 9 week course that is 1 hour once a week. Do you think this will be good for a puppy at this age? |

YT 3000 Club Member | Chester had his puppy class when he was young, but I would make sure that the puppy has at least all or most of their shots, check with your vet. Chester still knows all of his commands, it is well worth it. |

| It's a great age to start obedience classes but only if they are fully vaccinated. If in doubt, check with your vet.

My furkids Donating Member | I agree with this poster. I recently brought the girls to obedience and it was mandatory that they have all their vac's. If it were me...I would wait. JMO though

| The breeder will be giving him his first shots before we get him and we have an appointment with our Vet 2 days before the class to make sure it is ok to so the class. So we shall see! I am so excited to bring him home! Thanks for all of your responses. |

| Some places have requirements... Like, they at least have to have certain shots before they can be around other dogs... So, I would check on that first - then go from there... 8)

| As long as he has all his shots he will be fine. I bet your very pleased after you go to your classes. I'm going to try to get Penny to classes in September.
