| ![]() Well, I'd try to keep him in his kennel for a few days for longer periods of time and then take him outside when you release him from there. I know its hard, but I think Guppy got the hang of it once he learned to hold it overnight in his crate. Now, he barks to let us know he has to go out. I tried the bell thing, but my golden retriever kept tearing them off the door (I figured that would happen, but tried anyway...). That might be a good alternative for you though. The idea to give him a really special reward only when he goes outside is a great idea. I really think the PB did the trick for us...that and keeping him crated so that every morning when I got him out he would have to go so bad he couldn't hold it...gave me a great opportunity to reward him. You're also getting to that six month age and a lot of folks I talked to told me theirs seemed to get the hang of it around that time as well, so starting over at this time might be a great way to succeed. GL...hope it works out for you. |
