| Spray Bottle? I just recently got a spray bottle for persistent barking in the window or on walks. It has worked like a charm, although I feel really bad! They seem to be REALLY afraid of the water bottle. Is this a normal thing? I try to hide the bottle when I spray it so that they don't see me do it. Maybe I'm being a softie.. I was just wondering who else uses the spray bottle method. |

| Poor pups. Maybe soon you can just show them the water bottle. If they dislike it that much, just the threat of it will probably be enough.

| That is really good advice, thank you! Yes, if they even see me grab it, they sort of slink away . It breaks my heart and I HATE squirting them... I exhaust all other options first. |

| None of that worked on my lab Bridget. She loved the spray bottle with water. And the tabasco sauce, and the lemon and lime juice. We finally had to get a bark collar. Now that did the trick. Bella's not a barker. But if she was, I'd probably try the penny can everyone else uses.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | don't feel bad, furkids need discipline too just like skinkids. now i'm not saying you would squirt your skinkids with water when their bad (tho i recall being sprayed with the hose in the kitchen sink when i was little), but you can't exactly ground your yorkie like you would a child. lol don't worry, they'll get over it. and eventually all you have to do if make the motion to grab the water bottle and they'll stop whatever bad behavior they're doing.

YT 500 Club Member | The spray bottle seems to work for Sophie. The one with the long stream. Now when she sees the bottle she stops barking. However, when she gets really revved up, she tries to catch the water in her mouth. This usually happens when we have company, and everyone thinks it is very entertaining.
