| Pissing Contest I'm at my wit's end. We have a Boston and a Yorkie, both housebroken. We have successfully convinced the Boston that my wife and I are the alpha dogs, and we never really had a problem with the Yorkie being dominant towards us. What has been a problem, though, is that the dogs have begun marking things around the house in what I can only assume is a show of dominance between themselves. Truman (the Boston) seems to be the higher-ranking dog, but Max (Yorkie) has never really fully embraced his role at the bottom of the totem pole, which I think is part of the problem. Truman will pee on something, Max will follow up and pee on it, too, and then Truman will try to trump him by dropping a deuce on the floor nearby. The most coveted items in the house to pee on appear to be the guest bed and the floor mat in the guest bathroom. It's ridiculous. I guess this is where the phrase "pissing contest" comes from. I know how to display dominance over the dogs, but is there a way to encourage them to fall into line amongst themselves? |

| Mine are running their own contest also so I know how you feel...it can be frustrating ....I've just started to use belly bands & they work great.....I've been thinking of having my DH pee on the both of them so he can now become the dominate one

| It's a piece of fabric that wraps around their middle & closes w/ usually velcro, it covers his pee pee so he hopefully won't want to pee on himself til I remove it...it reminds me of a ladies headband..I had chattiesmom make mine but there are other members who make them also...go under I think it's "products for sale" or "featured products for sale" & there's a members list that sells things....

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I use a belly band and they work great! You just put a womens "pad" in it (I use Walmart brand with wings ) and they potty in that, just like a diaper. I just make sure to change it every couple hours. |

| It's ok until the skin kids get involved..... Thank goodness mine are grown. I do believe that my two boys would have given the yorkies a run for their money when they were young, though. |
