| Are you taking him outside every20-30 mins? Then give him a treat and lots of praise when he goes outside. Treat the areas he has pee on in your house wth a neutralizer so he doesnt go back to that spot. Just consistencey and patience is all it takes. Eventually they get it

| Thanks for the quick response! I haven't tried taking him out that much i didn't think he would have to go that much! I'll try it and see if it works. I do know he does sometimes pee in the house as soon as he comes in once in a while though. |

| My yorkie is 3 years old and never messes in the house. My problem is that he will urinate in our yard but never has done the big job here! I have to take him for a walk to have him go. We now have a fenced area and I want to train him to go there. So far, he has refused. Any suggestions? |

| Yorkielover079, my lil guy was born Mid-November, so he is about your lil guys age, and I still take Scruffy out every 1/2 hour. (and we've has him since he was 8 weeks old) I will keep doing that for QUITE a while, I had started taking him out every 40 minutes because he was doing so good, but then he started having accidents. We have been trying a different approach lately with him literally walking to the door to go outside to pee (we used to pick him up and just carry him out, but then he was NOT getting that he actually needs to GO TO THE DOOR to tell us he needs to go) and so far things are going O.K. He actually went to the door with one of his treats to go hide it outside, so that was something that made me feel good. Consistency, rewards, consistency, rewards, consistency, thats our motto here!!! Good luck!!! |

| I have been working on that - the rewards thing. i have gotten him to pee out there but the other, he will not do!!!! I am just going to have to be patient. He does not go in the house, but needs to be walked everytime!!! Otherwise, what a great little guy he is!!! Thanks and good luck on your end! |

I have two that try and trick me - they pee right away then turn to go in with that innocent look on their faces... I fell for it a few times.... One of them does go better if she walks a bit. I think for some dogs, it helps move things along, you know? Otherwise, you can stand outside and wait or bring him/her in and crate him and try again in a bit and keep repeating that... it is tedious and time consuming but hopefully will pay off! | |

No Longer a Member | When you take him outside, do you wait to make sure he's peeing out there? I'd try making him go pee pee at least twice outside. Chloe had some trouble with this a couple of months back. We just made her go pee at least two, sometime 3 times. I swear they could pee 50 times! |
