| ![]() Our yorkie is 2 years old. He just started barking about 6 months ago. He barks only at cats. We bought him a bark collar and it didn't stop his barking. They didn't work for us. |

| ![]() Let us know what you decide. I really don't want to have a dog that barks out of control, and am sure will be looking back on this post when he gets a little older and barks more. |

| ![]() I have a magazine at home (can't remember the name) that has a no-bark thingy in it. It puts out some sound that your dog won't like when it barks, no collars, no shocks or anything like that just a high pitched noise. It costs about $30 if your interested I look at the name of the magazine when I get home and tell you the name of the "no-bark thingy" lol |

| ![]() What scares me is... if you have something electrical around your dogs neck, what if it malfunctions or starts fire or whatever. Scary. Also, what if your dog barks at something appropriate? It doesn't differentiate.

| ![]() I would never use one of these. I dont' have a barking problem, but I was really really consistent with training against the "yapping" when I got Tino and now with Bunny. I think they need to bark at approporiate times and I would never want to "punish" what it simply instinct or their nature!

| ![]() this post is soo old.. i forgot i even made it.. i guess you can tell that i did not get a bark collar... i just trained her very hard not to bark on command.. only to bark when the doorbell rings or when someone she doesn't know is here.. but she's still very friendly.. so please people do not try and e-mail me saying i'm a cruel human being for even thinking about it.. i wasn't even actually talking about a Shock Collar.. but the one yorkieagility was talking about.. if the barking did become a serious issue as it was getting to be, i would have bought a plug in instead. too bad i cannot lock/erase/edit or close the polls.. i don't want this to be a controversial thread.. thank you everyone for your nice inputs/opinions. |
