![]() laurenr, I had a crate that was too big for my babe (and still is) and I put 2 shoes boxes in the back and covered the boxes with a fleece blanket.........there is a little head room at the top (maybe 3-4 inches) and he sometimes crawls up there, it's so cute!!! But I bet about 1/2 the crate is his, the other is 'blocked off' so that he doesn't mess in his crate. I do think that some people say NOT to put the wee pads IN the crate because it confuses them, but I am not positive about that. I think most people suggest you leave the crate door open and put a wee pad OUTSIDE the crate, but all you wee pad people, correct me if I am wrong. Good luck, you get baby today right??

![]() Like I said, I am not too familiar with the wee pad thing, because if you see a post farther down I had a post titled something like "has anyone NEVER used a pee pad" or something like that, and the people who DIDN"T use pee pads found that it confused the puppy (which is how I feel) but some people living in high rises etc... HAVE to use it!! But even wee pad users said IDEALLY outside is the best. So since I don't know much about the pads, I thought someone once said NOT to put pee pads IN THEIR crate, so some people just leave a pad outside the crate so the puppy can go out of his crate to do his business and then go back in!?!?!?! ![]() The first night we had Scruffy home, I put him right by our bed for 2 Minutes, and then I couldn't listen to the whimpering, so we put him out in the hall, I guess that distance gave me the courage to ignore him, and after just 3 nights of ANY kind of whimpering, that was it. I hear my baby right now..........what time are you getting your pup??

![]() yay!!! ![]() I placed her in her pen where I have her crate, with the top off for the moment; weepad on opposite end and food close to crate. It's cosy and cushy with a baby blanky. I just peeked at her and wouldn't you know it, she climbed right into her bed and conked out asleep.... I did not even have to show her.... Now I am sitting with this huge smile... staring.... waiting for my baby to wake up and go out for her very first pee at home outside (TG it's a warm and sunny day here in Southern Cal...) Wish this new Mom luck, especially for our first night together........ ![]()
