| climbing over child gate I have a Morkie who is 4 months old. When I am not at home I keep him in the kitchen- with the ceramic tile and a childs gate so that he does not have run of the house. He is about 95% potty trained but I can not completely trust him yet. He is so smart. He has figured out how to jump the gate. When I raise it up a little so there is a little space that he can not completely get under it he climbs the gate. Any suggestions would be great.[F][/FONT]

| I have a yorkie and for a minute we played lets outsmart the dog LOL No matter what we did she figured out how to get out of it. Sometimes I joke she's a little monkey. We'd find her in the oddest places when we'd get home. I went to home depot/ lowes can't remeber which and got a sheet wood about $3 and figured out how to rig it to block the door way. You can get plastic too but it's more expensive. Never had problems after that. Good Luck |

| I have one baby gate across the bottom. The couch is next to it and mine were climbing on the couch and jumping into the kitchen on the hard floor. So,, rather than have them kill themselves or break a leg, i put another baby gate turned long end up next to the couch on top of the other one. |

| I will get another gate to place on top, that sounds like I plan. I could not believe my eyes when I saw him jump over the gate than climb over..what a little rat.

| When gracie was a pup we had a baby gate with the thin plastic netting and she chewed a hole through it and got out! I had to get a thicker "fenced" gate that she couldnt chew! We spent a week trying to figure out how she got out of the kitchen and looking closely I seen a small enough hole she had chewed and squeezed out! Amazing what these Yorkies will do for fun!!!!

| Mine gets out of the kitchen, and I have a board in the doorway, with the refrigerator krammed up against it! I know I need to do something else, but just don't know what to do either. I've looked at baby gates, but all that I've seen, I know she could climb or chew a hole in it. Mine is a good climber too. That doorway is at least 36", and I'm thinking about buying a door, cutting it down to 4 foot, and installing it in that doorway, lol. |
