| Need Help!! My male yorkie pees all over. I have 3 yorkie babies...2 girls and 1 boy. My eldest yorkie is 2-1/2 years old girl and is 100% potty trained on pad. My other 11-month old girl yorkie is also 98% potty trained on pad. My 11-month old boy yorkie was 98% potty trained on pad, but since a couple a weeks ago has been peeing everywhere else but the pad. He seems to have learned to lift his leg and pee on anything vertical like the wall, a table leg and also next to his bed. He seems to be marking his territory? Some of the spots are small and are sometimes hard to see. I'm constantly cleaning up after him, but he seems to mark the same place over and over again. How can I stop him from doing this? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with this behavior? How do I tell him that this is not acceptable to do inside the house? Is this behavior going to continue or does this only happen when he's in heat? I desperately need training tips. |

| Male dogs don't go into heat. And, yes, left unchecked this marking behavior is likely to continue. Most (but, unfortunately, not all) males stop marking once they have been neutered. If you get them neutered as quickly as possible when they start this behavior, the odds of this stopping the problem are improved. Otherwise, you have to treat it like a housebreaking problem. Watch him constantly. Immediately interrupt pottying in the wrong place and rush him to the appropriate spot. Heavily reward (with praise and treats) pottying appropriately. Contain him when you can't watch him. Good luck.

| Some here use belly bands for their male dogs. Do a search for belly bands up top there Good luck! This is the main reason why I hesitate to get a male dog, as sweet as they are. I don't know if I could handle the peeing on vertical surfaces, horizontal is enough for me
