| What do you use for training treats? Just wondering what you used as 'rewards' when training your puppy? A yorkie's tummy is so small - I need to find itty bitty treats! I know each dog is different in their tastes, but I just wanted some ideas! I was thinking Cheerios? Any thoughts? |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I use puperoni for Bengi because I can cut it in very tiny pieces and because it's chewy he eats it right up so I don't have to wait for him to finish it up when I'm training him. |

| Cherrios are good. I use Zukes mini naturals, Cloud Star itty bitty buddy biscuits or Charlee Bears. I use cheese or chicken at class.

| I use the Chicken Jerkey Sticks -- they are soft and you can pinch off a tiny little 1/8 - 1/4 inch piece at a time. Ben loves these. I am only at the "reward for peeing outside stage" but will use them for more as we go.

| I used Venus's kibble too. Keri might have been the one to tell me to try that! Venus just KNOWS she's getting a good treat too! Also, found out she does like Cheerios too! She gets 2 a day when I have my breakfast. Other than that, she gets no people food, period. |

| Natural Balance meat rolls. They're a huge log (beef, turkey, or lamb), healthy and you can cut them into the tiniest pieces. It's what they use at her dog obedience classes too. You can find them at any Petco. |

| I use cat kibble, they love it. I carry it around in my pocket all the time. It doesn't smell or make a mess and it's inexpensive.

| I also make treats. I call them Yorkie Yummies. I have never known a dog to refuse them. They have five ingredients .... Chicken liver, beef liver, brown rice, white rice and eggs. The treats are so small that three pieces fit nicely on a "quarter" -- they are tiny enough for a chomp chomp and they are gone..... a tiny burst of irrestible flavor that dogs are willing to work hard to earn. They come in a generous four ounce portion -- over 300 treats, packaged in their very own bone shaped pouch that has a loop for attaching to a belt. The price is $7.50 Last edited by chattiesmom; 11-13-2006 at 07:48 PM. |

| When you give treats make sure they are small otherwise he may not eat his food. Chibi loves mozzarella. We just give him one of the shredded pieces! Although, I was told not to feed too many milk products to him, since dogs sometimes can not tolerate them. Cheerios sound good, especially if he is really tiny!
