| How big play pen are you using? We have a 3 month old Yorkie (Macho) and now we leave him in the master bathroom all day with the door closed (tried putting up game but the little bugger climbs out). At first he would pee on the wee wee pad, but now he doesnt and just plays with them. I heard at the pet store that leaving him in a crate all day is bad because you don't want them peeing where they sleep. That being said, I guess if they are left in a play pen or crate big enough where there's a nice seperation between the poop and the play, he should be fine. SO the question is, how big are your crates/pens? |

| If he's left alone during the day for longer periods of time, definitely use the xpen. Maybe use a pee pad holder so he can't rip the pads into pieces? He should have enough space for his bed, food/water bowls and toys and pee pad. If he has more space he might go potty there instead of the pad. If you see he has the habit of pottying on the pad, try expanding the pen, it worked for me.

| I have the standard size ex-pen. I guess it is about 4-5 feet in diameter when it is set up.

| I have hardwood floors so I made on for Howie. It's 4'x4'. He is usually pretty good, but I think he does get restless a couple hours before I get home. So, he'll start pulling his blanket and all from his bed. But, other than his boredness, I think he does pretty well. |

| I also have wood floors, I use a twin flat mattress protector under my wee wee pads in her "bathroom area" she has a futon in hers and has a play area, also a area for water & food. I HAD to put a top on mine as both mine climb out of the playpen. I also use 3 connected to each other on my porch so they can go out front without getting down the front steps. It is convient for me and safe for them. I tried the wee wee pad frame for mine. Chloe never took it out of the frame but Sissy tore it right out of there. So I guess it depends on each baby. Also Chloe will climb over the backyard fence, Sissy won't but she has a paper fetish that drains me, messy messy, I use a little rake to celan it up, in the playpen or outside the playpen all over the house. A rake cleans it up much faster then having to pick up all the little pieces. Sissy also likes to take her pads, holding onto the end and flying it through the house like a kite, she only does this with fresh ones I put down PS this set up is 2 playpens tied together with plastic ties and I connected a top the same way with panel I took off another playpen. There is a web address I found later on that sells the panels for a little bit over $6. each
