| How old was your Yorkie? When you started to train him to go potty outside?

| As soon as I brought her home at 13 weeks. We also used potty pads in the house for the first few months as it took me a while to be able to read her signals that she needed to go. At 13 months old, she goes outside 99% of the time. The other 1% is because I miss the signals or the hubby is home with her!!! Good luck.

| Yeah, I think I will start now, Nigel is 10 weeks, but he is ready. He is already going as soon as he leaves his crate after naps. He goes on a puppy pad, but I want him to go outside. I live across the street from central park in NYC so it's really convenient to take him outside. Just checking, I wasn't sure if I should wait until he has all his shots first.

| Well if theres a chance he could be around other dogs or other dog poo I would wait untill hes had all his shots. My vet would not let me take my dogs anywhere besides our own yard untill they had their 3rd set of shots

| When did I start to train him to go potty outside? The day I brought him home (he was 10 weeks old). When did he get 100% reliable? At roughly 4 1/2 months old. Oops, editing to add: I just read the part about having to take him to a park to potty. You're right. He does need to have all of his shots before you do that. Check with your vet.

| I checked with his vet, and he said I can take him out to the grass in front of my apartment but to hold off on taking him to the park until he's had his last set of shots. So, Nigel went pee on the grass outside my apartment.

| Buddy was 14 wks when he came home with me and our first visit to grass was when we got out of the car and every 1 1/2 hrs after that for the first week.( he slept through the nite with no accidents) I was on vacation and create trained him. He was trained fully 1 1/2 mos later at 5mos. Never accidents unless he is sick. |

| I'd love to start potty training Pepper outside but he still needs one more shot... And the vet advised me against taking him to public places yet. I took him to picnic and bike riding (in the basket) but I tried to keep him off the ground. I can take him out only sometimes in a friend's house, she has a backyard. But where I live there are too many dogs and owners who don't clean up after them, too risky . He's a good boy and goes on pee pads almost 100 percent of the time, and the few times I took him out he didn't get the whole idea of pottying outside and waited when we came back home. Can't wait that last shot.

| 14 weeks old...when I brought Chance Home. I got Remmy at 10 weeks and immediately started outside training. Both are great with potty outside. Remmy never has accidents (he is 3) Chance has had one in the past month( he is 10months old)
