| peeing in crate Maggie was doing this and I made her crate so small she could barely move in it and she had quit. So hubby told me to take it out now and let her have a decent place to sleep at night lol, So I did and the last two nights or early morning she done it again, so today its back to the cubby hole for her. How long will I have to keep doing this to train her? anyone have an idea?

| This EXACT same thing happened with my Hobbs. He kept going potty in his crate so I made it so small that he could barely move. The peeing stopped, but everytime I tried to take the box out, he would pee in there! It was very frustrating. Hobbs is now 100% potty trained so he gets free run of much of the house (living room, foyer, and kitchen). If I were you, I would keep the box in there at least until she is 6-8 months old. Then, each weak, give her a little bit more room. You will have to gradually make her crate bigger...I would not recommend taking the box out all at once. If you find that she pees in there when you make it a little bigger, go back to making it smaller. Eventually you will find a happy medium, although you may never be able to take the box completely out. Hope this help! |
