| Litter Box Training I have a 13 1/2 year old male Yorkie. I have had him since he was 2 months old. He was litter boxed trained for many years. When I moved to a new apartment he refused to go in the box, so he basically housebroke himself around 9 years old. Now he is getting older and is starting to have accidents in the house. He has bladder stones and is on a prescription diet. It doesn't seem to be working, so I think surgery is the next step. Well, I need help in getting him litter box trained again. Any suggestions. I would think he would remember what to do, but I guess that was wishful thinking. Another note- he is losing his hearing, so praise is an issue. I can't believe it has taken me 13 years to find this site. Any help would be appreciated. I have a month to work on this, then I go back to work. Thanks! P.S. I tried belly bands. They would not stay on him, and I can;t be there to change it when it is wet. |
