| Potty Question I got my Mia yesterday, and I keep an eye on her constantly. Its my summer vacation, so I will be spending all my time with her. Last night, when I put her in her crate, she kept crying and crying, and I had to carry her to the bathroom to aviod waking up all the neighbors. Guess where I got to sleep? On a blanket, right next to her on the bathroom floor because I did not want to leave her alone. So anyway, she woke up every 2 1/2- 3 hrs to go pee pee. I let her out when she stopped whining. The bathroom is small so she went right on her wee wee pad. I cheered, hugged and kissed her. She wagged her itsy bitsy tail and licked me. I put her back in the crate and everything was fine. During the day, however, she keeps sniffing around and when I put her on the wee wee pad she just looks at me and doesn't do anything. Then she wanders off and pees in a different location 2 mins. later. I can almost always tell that she is about to go pee pee but at the same time, I don't want to force her to stay on the wee wee pad because I think it stresses her out more when I try to keep her on it. Is there any way to encourage her to go on the wee wee pad, other than rewarding when she gets it right? Oh, and when I see her going pee at another spot, should I pick her up and put her on the wee wee pad right away, or should I just let her finish and say "hopefully next time." I know she is too too young to be completely trained or anywhere close but I want to start off right, especially because I have lots of time to spend with her. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I kept Cali's wee wee pad in her playpen so when she had to go I would put her in there so she knew she had to go there. If she goes somewhere else i would take her over to her pad as soon as possible and say wee wee here. She is young and will get the hang of it.
