| Hair Growth Ok, my puppy was born on December 19th of last year and the guy that I bought him from said that he was a purebred yorkie, but he doesn't have any long hair. Is it possible that he's not a yorkie or is he just a really late bloomer? I mean, I don't really mind if he's not because I'll still love him no matter what, but I'm just curious of whether or not he truly is. |

| Oscar was born in October '05 and his coat is still fairly short (probably a few inches long now). It has definitely grown since I got him though - has your puppy's hair grown at all? As long as it's growing, I wouldn't worry too much. Some people's hair grows faster than others, just like I imagine some puppies will have coats that grow faster/slower than others. One Yorkie can be vastly different from the next and yet still be purebred. Pictures would definitely help in this case! (are you saving your pictures as jpegs? do they meet the size restrictions?)

| Does he have the proper paper work when you bought him? Maybe you'll just have to play the waiting game. Either way he looks quiet sweet.

| It is hard to tell if he is purebred yorkie. He looks like he could be a mix, his coat also looks wiry like a australian terrier. He could still be a yorkie though, just not one of proper conformation and coat. His hair may or may not grow it, I guess you will have to wait and see. He is adorable though.

| He definitely looks mixed. I think you were taken if the guy told you he was a purebred. I would say that you move on from it and love the little guy for what he is.

| I love him no matter what he is, he's adorable regardless of what he is. I was just curious as to whether or not he was really a yorkie, because his hair isn't really growing. |
