| He is 3mo. but weighs a TON! HELP! Ok my baby boy Napoleon is 3 months old and basically gains a lb a week. He is currently 6.2 pounds! Am I overfeeding him, is he overweight, should I put him on a diet or what?? any suggestions please helP!! |

| Maybe hes gonna be a big yorkie check out the thread about size of yorkies ,some get to be as much as 18 lbs .

| At 3 months, I doubt if he is overeating to become fat. But he could very well be a very big Yorkie. You could get in touch with the breeder and ask about him and the sizes of most of the Yorkies produced. Has the breeder ever had an oversize like this before? That's what you want to ask. |

| What are you feeding him? I'd research into feeding him mostly meat (raw, if you are comfortable with that). I don't think dogs are meant to eat processed food (lots of it is filled with unnecessary carbohydrates). Some dogs, just like people, don't take to sugar very well, and will gain a ton of weight eating extra carbohydrates they do not need. Just my 2cents.

| as i have seen from the post here, the breeder will not be forthcoming about the size of the yorkie. i have also seen where they have a very large female to mate w a small male to try and get as many pups as possible. so you can end up w a larger pup like the mommy. it happened to me. my yorkie is larger but i love every bit of him.
