Chloe is the same way! She has a puppy pad in the laundry room. She knows what it is for and how to use it. But, only if we close the laundry room door or put the baby gate up. She ends up using her pad almost every time. But, the minute we let her run loose for some playtime and excercise, she will pee and poop on the floor every 10 minutes. She will not walk back into the laundry room for anything to use her pad. I am running out of ideas to teach her so she can eventually have roam of the house. We have been working with her for about a month and half on this and no success at all. She maybe walked back to her pad a couple of times in this whole month and half and we heavily rewarded her. And gave her a treat. Our last yorkie Lacey was newspaper trained and she was so easy! Her newspaper was set up in the laundry room and she would sleep with me every night. But, if she had to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, she would walk back to the laundry room to go. She could be in any room of the house and would know where to go even being almost totally blind in her senior years. Even when that dog was very sick with kidney failure, she would still walk to her paper. She rarely ever had an accident. Any advice that I could use for Chloe would be greatly appreciated. I also tried to taking her outside a whole bunch. I have to stay outside with her an hour or more before she would actually do anything. And she will not walk on the leash. All she wants to is roll over. I know Chloe is still very young. She will be exactly 3 months old tomorrow. Please help!
