Gizmo is pee pad training. He doesn't do very well at other people's home. However, when he's home I always know when he goes on his pee pad because he comes prancing out. I can hear the prance in his steps and he heads straight to me and I say "What is it, show me" and he'll look at the restroom and then I follow him. Once I see the spot or poop I praise him and he gets a Cheerio. :) |
I've just gotten a female (7 wks old Wed). She will either pee on the pad or poop but I didn't realize she might not want to do both on the same pad. I'll try putting down another one beside her pee tray. Do you use the pee trays or just put the pads on the floor? |
My Jazz tried to pull off the belly band. She would sit and pout with these. There are puppy potties that are made for travel. They look nice at your in-laws house, and most hotels like you bringing these rather they puppy pads Hope this helps as well for pups that don't like the bands, and setting out a pad when you are traveling in not your best option. |
PETsMART or PETCO...:) |

pee pad enticement Mack is 1 1/2 yrs old & has been raised from the beginning to use pee pads. He expects and receives a tiny bit of a treat each time. He very rarely has an accident. We cut up a Sterlite box to fit in a corner of the laundry room and always have it covered with pads. I replace them immediately after use (I cut up the pads into 12"X12" pcs so only change the soiled pcs.). |
Does anyone use a litter box, how do you get your dog not to eat the litter, I have a two year old Yorkie and a one year old Yorkie. They love to get into the cat litter which does not happen. They are pad trained, my girl is better then my boy. But my boy will not go in front of anyone including me. I have taken both to the vet many times about it. He said it a clean thing. Dogs that are extremely clear will not go to the bathroom in front of anyone. He also gets very embarrassed if he has a accident in front of someone. My girl go pee about 100 times a day. Both have not a thing wrong. My boyfriend feels they do not know the difference between the pads and the carpet. I also have had some other dogs over for play dates and they marked now it a marking game. My boyfriends dogs has marked everything curtians, beds, couches, wood furniture. Now every dog that comes over marks. Please any help would be great... |
Emma uses pee pads and she is really good with them, given half a chance she will go in the cat room and pee on the floor close to their litter box I think just to mark the area as hers, I think she is a little jealous of the cats and likes to dominate them. When she was younger she mistook any kind of throw rug as a pee pad so I couldn't keep a bath mat down. :aimeeyork |
Pad training my first Yorkie Hey everyone, My puppy turns 5 months today, Dallas is doing well. He poops on the potty pad has that down great but peeing is something he is working on . I take him out in his little yard and we go for 3 walks, morning, afternoon, evening, weather permitting. I had him on a schedule and it was working great , but as a lot of you know that fluctuates. He is still adjusting I got him at 11 weeks old end of July. He is precious and a little devil at times , but that's how puppies are. He still is a good boy, listens well. Potty training is tough best of luck to all of us. Now if I can get him to eat on his old schedule I would be happy. Everything is a work in progress and trial and error. Enjoy your fur babies they all are adorable . Unfortunately it won't let me post my pics of Dallas they exceed the image limit pixels thing. Any suggestions on any topic is much welcomed . Enjoy your day .:animal-pa |

My Baxter is perfectly pee pad trained at home but is not at my moms as well! I just keep him in a belly band so he doesn't pee on her furniture and floors it's the only way I've come up with. |
