| Need some help! Hi everyone! First post here So we have a 5 month old female yorkie, her name is Mini. And our first dog in general so we are new to the dog world We have been trying to potty train her outside but have been running into some issues. I'll try to explain in detail her environment and and what not so you understand her living circumstances and maybe it's something there that needs fixing? She is free to roam the house (upstairs it blocked off so she is only restricted to the living room and kitchen mostly). Her food is always out, we do not have her on a feeding schedule, yet. (Heard that should happen once they reach adult hood?). When it is bedtime she will sleep on the bed with my mom. (Mostly got the dog for her since she is retired and no one is usually home since I work and my dad is a truck driver so he is gone for weeks at a time). First we tried indoor potty training on pads but she seems to just like to tear those apart so we gave up on the indoor lol. Now we usually let her out first thing in the morning to relieve herself and then every hour or so (or when we see her sniffing about) we will let her out again also after any naps and then again once more before bed. Mornings she will relieve herself 99.9% of the time but throughout the day she becomes..indecisive? There are times where she will go when we take her out and there are times where she will go outside, not do anything and then the moment she comes in she will find a place within the house to relieve herself. We usually keep her outside for about 10 minutes or so. Also there are times where she will relieve herself outside and then come in and relieve again 10 minutes later as if she didn't fully relieve herself outside? When we do catch her in the act of relieving inside, we usually yell at her with just a firm "No" or "Bad girl" but that doesn't seem to stop her either lol. I might be missing some other details but hopefully this is enough Any help would be appreciated! |

| Are you praising and giving a treat when she goes in the right place? You might need to cut down on how much space she has to roam until she is potty trained.
