Excessive Barking Me and my fiancé have a 2.5 year old yorkie, Jack. For the last year or so, Jack has had very excessive barking. Anytime we simply stand up, even slowly, or leave the house, he will bark out of control or even bite our sneakers and hands as we try to put our shoes on to leave. He will continue to do this until we practically slam the door so he doesn't continue to bite us. Like I said, he will even do it when we simply stand up to go get a drink or go to the bathroom, often times jumping up and biting our pant legs or even skin itself. We have tried simply telling him to "shhh" or "be quiet" with no success at this point. We also have tried giving him "Vet Best, comfort calming tablets" (mostly tryptophan) but even those don't really do anything. Does anybody have any suggestions on what we can do? We recently got another Yorkie puppy about 2 months ago and we are worried that this behavior may lead to the puppy adapting and doing the same thing.

Barking I bought the no bark collar from Amazon. The kind that only has a sound...no shock or vibration. My Yorkie yapper actually stops barking if I just hold it up to show him the thing now and he goes and lies down. I say "no bark.do you want me to put this on?" And he stops. It won't work for all dogs but is worth a try.

Do you have a link for it by chance? We recently tried a shock collar and for the first few hours it didn't do anything, then when we tried to leave he had a fit and it shocked him repeatedly causing him to flip out and pee all over. We decided to return it after that but we still need to get him to relax.

| I purchased the "Pet Corrector" which comes in 2 sizes. It is just pressurized air & makes a loud sound. After using it a few times, I normally only need to say "do I need to get the can" & they calm right down. I purchased this at our local pet store. It worked wonders for us.

Re bark collar "ISHOW store ultrasonic no bark collar." Google it and the Amazon link will show up. It is triangular plastic white and costs anywhere from 7.69 to 12.99 depending on who is selling it.
